An active, regulated cooling in our Power modules and in the Sunpower provides the performance cooling for the electronics (EVG) and the T-5 tubes.
Thereby, the electronics are preserved and simultaneously, the T-5 tubes are stabilized at an optimum temperature range, which results in an extra performance increase of 15 %..
Also, as far as we know, we are the only manufacturer which has decided to use the most superior reflecting materials on the market today. This is a material which has a 98 % total-light reflection, normally used in such high tech applications as TFT,LCD and LED displays in Mobile phones, Notebooks , Monitors and Television equipment.
Thus , in contrast to the otherwise normally used polished- aluminum reflectors , an increase of over 10 % in the level of illumination can be measured.. This means a further step in the efficiency increase in the T-5
technology.
However, to ensure that these valuable reflectors do not come into contact with water, and that they do not experience splash droplets or require cleaning of the individual reflectors, we have equipped the the lamps with a splash-protector made of acrylic-glass.
For the Power module it is a plate which is inserted into the module. The Sunpower model is equipped with a acrylic-glass cover, which includes a light screen.
This allows the technical light advantages of the High-tech-Reflectors to combine with a low operational maintenance factor to provide a safe and long operational life .
The water-spray coverings on the sides provide reliable protection from splashes directly hitting the tubes, reflectors and the mountings., which does not take long to happen with those devices having an open construction.
Additionally, there is an enormous work-reduction achieved by having to normally make only a single wipe with a damp, micro-fibre cloth on the plexiglass plate. Open- construction mountings require that all reflectors have to be removed and individually cleaned, which means intensive work and more time.
Via the splash-protection of the lights themselves, one can place them without hesitation closer to the water surface, which also leads to an increase of illumination in the aquarium, and thereby allowing a more efficient use of energy and degree of illumination.
Since the heat is deflected to the sides and upward, and not directed to the surface of the water, there is less heat displacement in the aquarium itself, which is especially an advantage in the summer months.
